Changan has released on the Chinese market the firstborn of the Avatr sub-brand, launched jointly with Huawei and CATL. It is an electric crossover with a “space” appearance, rich equipment, and impressive dynamics, named Avatr 11. The starting version of the crossover Changan has an estimated 349 thousand yuan. The company asks 600 thousand yuan for the “top” variant Avatr 011, created together with the creative director of Givenchy.
The Avatr 11’s futuristic design was created by Changan artists, who also gave it the CHN modular platform. Techno giant Huawei was responsible for the wide range of electronics, while CATL was responsible for the traction batteries. The crossover got slim front optics, recessed door handles, a tiny rear window, and a retractable spoiler.

The Avatr 11 has three displays in the cabin – the dashboard, a large tablet of the multimedia system, and a separate screen for the front passenger with the size of a “dashboard”. A special “chip” of the electric car was the Huawei autopilot, which operates based on data from 34 sensors: three lidars, six millimeter-range radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and 13 cameras. Its computing platform is capable of performing up to 400 trillion operations per second.

It is powered by a twin-engine electric propulsion system producing 578 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque. The Avatr 11 accelerates from a standing start to 100 kilometers per hour in less than four seconds and its top speed is limited to 200 kilometers per hour for safety reasons. It has a range of 555 to 680 kilometers without recharging.
Over the next few years, the young Avatr brand will expand its range to include three more electric cars, the details of which are still kept secret.
