Audi sued the Chinese automaker Nio 1

According to published data, Audi, which is part of the German Volkswagen Group, has sued the Chinese automaker Nio, accusing it of copyright infringement. The thing is that the brand named its new cars Nio ES6 and Nio ES8, where Audi spotted a hint of the Audi S6 and Audi S8.

This is reported by Reuters with reference to the German newspaper Handelsblatt.

Currently, Nio sells the ES8 model in Norway, and in the near future plans to launch sales of the ET7 electric sedan in Germany. Also, by the end of this year, the brand’s representative offices should appear in the Netherlands, Sweden, and Denmark.

It should be noted that representatives of Nio refused to comment on this situation, and journalists could not find a representative of Audi. Nevertheless, copyright infringement in Europe is considered a very serious crime, for which a company can incur a large fine.

Earlier it was reported that the Japanese company IP Bridge Inc sued the manufacturer Ford for the fact that the brand uses certain methods of connecting to the LTE network in its cars. Details of this claim have not yet been disclosed.
