The French sports car manufacturer Alpine together with Obvious, a French team of artists and researchers who use artificial intelligence in their work, created the Alpine A110 Sastruga art car. The car was premiered at the Art Paris contemporary art exhibition on the Champ de Mars in Paris – in addition to the art car, the Grand Palais Ephemeral presents an exhibition on the history of the creation of the special sports car.
The drawing is stylized as a narrow and hard snow ridge stretched across the wind, which appears naturally – and is made in a combination of white and blue colors. The livery used elements of racetracks associated with the history of the Alpine brand.
According to Obvious, the configuration of multiple racetracks was processed by a machine learning algorithm, which formed the final pattern.
The livery was named Alpine Track and refers to the rich heritage of the brand and the futuristic racetrack, where the pilot can choose any of the many directions available to him.
At the rear of the Alpine A110 Sastruga art car, a mathematical formula can be found that acts as the signature of the art team. At the same time, this element of the unusual livery is part of the algorithm involved in the creation of the drawing for the car design.
