The Italian tuning studio Ares Design has presented its own vision of the first-generation British Land Rover Defender SUV. Due to the complex refinement, which changed both the exterior, interior, and technical characteristics, the specialists got a unique car, which was supplemented with a custom motorcycle and an exclusive trailer for transporting a bike, made in a common style with the car. The company is ready to build a similar kit for everyone.
The new project was named Defender V8 Hardtop. Behind this name is a Land Rover SUV with a new carbon fiber hood and radiator grille with integrated LED headlights, wheel arches, and 18-inch wheels with Cooper Discoverer STT Pro off-road tires appeared.
The image is complemented by serious changes in the interior, which flaunts scarlet leather upholstery, which covered almost all the panels in the cabin, and what is not upholstered in leather is decorated with decorative wooden inserts. A new steering wheel and an Alpine multimedia system with the acoustics of six speakers and a subwoofer are installed.
Technical improvements include a new 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V8 combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission, a reinforced transmission, and more productive brakes. In addition, the SUV has become higher — the lift suspension has increased the ground clearance by 35 millimeters.
In addition to the Defender V8 Hardtop, the client ordered Ares Design to modify the motorcycle in the style of an SUV, and for the transportation of two-wheeled vehicles, a special trailer was made in the studio, which is adapted for use in conjunction with the modified Land Rover. The company intends to release Defender V8 Hardtop in a limited edition. The number of cars planned for production is not announced, but the price is known — each car will cost 235 thousand euros.
