GAC unveiled its new electric sedan at the Guangzhou Auto Show. The Aion Hyper GT model stands out for its stylish appearance with doors like those of Lamborghini and advanced technology. Details about the novelty were revealed on the CNW website.
The GAC Aion Hyper GT will be offered with rear and all-wheel drive. The mono-drive version produces 340 hp and 434 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 4 seconds. The range of the model is about 500-600 km.
The electric car is equipped with variable steering and damping system. They allow the car to respond to changes in road conditions in seconds. There is also an active rear wing, which increases downforce at high speed.
Options will include millimeter range cameras, three Lidar systems with obstacle detection, and equipment with satellite infrared remote sensing support. This equipment makes the GAC Aion Hyper GT a fairly autonomous vehicle that helps the driver avoid accidents.
The electric car stands out for its unusual door opening mechanism, which resembles a similar solution in Lamborghini supercars. GAC said that this allowed a significant reducing the height of the novelty, thereby improving aerodynamic properties. The drag coefficient is 0.19Cd, making it one of the most streamlined cars in the world.
