Mercedes-Benz has published photos and partially revealed the characteristics of the new Mercedes-AMG G63 4×4. The SUV received a suspension with on-board gearboxes, a 361-millimeter ground clearance, a 585-horsepower turbocharged four-liter engine, a new decor, and 22-inch wheels. Presumably, its price will be 250 thousand euros.
Information about the new Mercedes-AMG G63 4×4 appeared on the German website of the company. However, only the main points have been revealed so far, so the big premiere, apparently, is still ahead. But it is already clear that the SUV was modified in order to improve the geometric patency. In numbers, it looks like this: the ground clearance increased from 238 to 361 millimeters, the fording depth — from 700 to 910 millimeters, and the angle of entry — from 27 to 40 degrees. For comparison: the predecessor of the Mercedes-Benz G 500 4×4 had a clearance of 438 millimeters, and the entry angle was 51.6 degrees.
Also, the G63 4×4 is distinguished by 22-inch wheels, LED roof lamps, a new “spare tire” casing, and a visible carbon-fiber decor. Nappa leather and Dinamica microfiber are used for interior upholstery. Under the hood of the SUV is a standard “Biturbo eight” 4.0, developing 585 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. The box is a nine-stage automatic. Up to the first “hundred” G63 4×4 accelerates in 4.6 seconds, consuming an average of 20 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers.
Of course, this is the most extreme version of the G-Class. But for those who will not find this enough, there is the Brabus Crawler — the first car on its own Brabus chassis. The all-terrain vehicle is based on a steel spatial frame. The claimed ground clearance is 530 mm. The equipment includes onboard gearboxes, aluminum and Kevlar protection, and a Brabus Rocket 900 Biturbo motor developing 900 forces and 1050 Nm of torque.
